preparing a home for the market: When Your Professional Advice Backfires

As a listing agent you want to go into a listing presentation with valuable tips for Sellers to prepare their home for the market. Sometimes the repairs are necessary for the inspection, sometimes the repairs will help the sale of the home. I add - I will be a bit blunt, as the buyers will be brutal on showings.
Taking care of the small repairs readily visible on my walk-through are noted, maybe refinishing hardwood floors, painting and a thorough cleaning is always a good idea. Also taking care of any FHA/VA appraisal items that could become an issue … (50 comments)
