The Minong Flowage is a 1,564-acre impoundment of the Totagatic River created by a dam completed in 1937. Most of its bottom is sand; its maximum and mean depths are 21’ and 9’. Although much of the Flowage is deep, open water, some of its shallow bays contain tree stumps and aquatic vegetation. The fishery consists mainly of walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, and yellow perch. The Flowage is also popular for boating, waterskiing, and paddling.

Eau Claire Chain of Lakes, between Gordon and Barnes in NW Wisconsin
The Eau Claire chain includes Lower, Middle, and Upper Eau Claire, plus a few smaller lakes of 80-200 acres that are accessible by smaller boats at most water levels. These include Bony, Pickerel, Robinson, Birch, Schunenberg, Smith, and Sweet. From Lower Eau Claire, the Eau Claire River flows westward, passing just south of Eau Claire Acres. Farther downstream, it joins the St Croix at Gordon.

Douglas County and other parts of Northwest Wisconsin is rich with prime large-tract hunting land. The terrain is often varied with rolling hills, valleys, and level land. There are open fields and wooded areas. Many have streams, often offering good trout fishing, running through the parcels.
