As part of the Blog Jumpstart Challenge Lynn Friedman asked us to talk about the ActiveRain community guidelines, which you can read for yourself, and should, if you haven’t already.
I suppose most people don’t like to have rules, or call them guidelines if you will, but they are a useful communication to all about expectations, especially on matters that might not be obvious…here, and elsewhere in life and the business world
Of the 3 general categories of Guidelines, respect for the Active Rain Community always rings true for me.
The ActiveRain Guidelines are a key component of our online network. These guidelines, in particular “Respect for the Real Estate Community, are something all should be aware of and adhere to, in all activities on AR.

The ActiveRain Guidelines are a key component of our network, something that every member should be aware of and adhere to. As part of the blogging challenge hosted by Lynn Friedman, participants are to write 24 articles by the end of January, one of which must be about the AR Guidelines.

Respect the Fair Housing Ethos – ActiveRain Guidelines One of the ActiveRain guidelines we seem to hear less about as opposed to others has to do with Fair Housing. I don’t think that’s because it is not considered important, but maybe talking about slander, flaming, plagiarism and other AR no-nos is more tantalizing than the Fair Housing laws.
It shouldn’t be.
