The Carlsbad Village Street Faire is a hugely popular event for 45 years, returning to Carlsbad Village Sunday, November 3rd. The Faire is hosted by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Kennedy and Associates.
The Carlsbad Village Street Faire is reported to be the largest outdoor 1-day fair in the US. There is also a Carlsbad Village Street Faire held every May.

ArtWalk Carlsbad is September 21 and 22, 2024
The 5th Annual ArtWalk Carlsbad is just a week away on September 21 and 22. No doubt artists and art lovers alike are looking forward to this popular event.
The inaugural ArtWalk Carlsbad was in 2018 and I had a great time then, and in 2022. Unfortunately, the 2020 and 2021 ArtWalks were canceled due to the pandemic.
ArtWalk San Diego, the organization that produces the Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy and the ArtWalk @ Liberty Square, is the organizer of this popular 2-day art festival in North San Diego County.

Carlsbad Art Wall April 2024
The 3rd Carlsbad Art Wall mural for 2024 was completed the last weekend in April. I apologize for being so late sharing this.
Carlsbad artist and graphic designer Molly Alexander transformed the wall with these beautiful and vibrant orange blossoms, an influence from having grown up in Southern California. You’ll find her on Instagram at @MollyAlex_art. You can learn more on her website, MollyAlex.com.
This is the 41st mural since the founding of the Carlsbad Art Wall in 2015.

Carlsbad art lovers will be pleased the 26th Annual Art in the Village Fair will be here soon, a few days after the 1st day of summer.
This popular fine art event will showcase around 130 local and regional artists, and takes place Sunday June 23rd. The fair runs from 9 am until 5 pm and attendance is free. You’ll find Art in the Village along State Street and Grand Avenue in the heart of downtown.

The 3rd Annual ArtWalk Carlsbad was held this weekend along Armada Drive overlooking the Flower Fields (not very exciting at this time of year since there are no flowers but a great view nonetheless) and the ocean in the distance.
It was a gorgeous day with clear skies in the upper 70s and, fortunately, with a nice ocean breeze. Over 150 fine artists showcased their creations, a diverse array of art work in many forms of media. You can check out the artists and their creations here.

Carlsbad Alley Art Wall in Carlsbad Village
Carlsbad’s public art scene has a new, and special, addition in our community.
The Carlsbad Alley Art Wall, conceived and curated by well-known Carlsbad artist Bryan Snyder, was recently dedicated in the Village.
You’ll find the Carlsbad Alley Art Wall at 550 Grand Avenue, on the Tyler street alley wall adjacent to the former Café Ground Up. The Café has closed and a new restaurant, the Village Kabob Mediterranean Grill, will be taking over the space.
This public art wall consists of 17 murals by different artists, the latest completed in January 2022.

One of the favorite arts and craft fairs returns to Carlsbad Village on Sunday May 1. Supposedly, the Carlsbad Village Street Faire is the largest outdoor 1-day fair in the US (other than perhaps its counter-part, the November Carlsbad Village Faire).

Carlsbad now has another beach chair added to the growing collection of public art around the city. And our reputation as an arts community continues to grow.
The imagery is perfect for our Village by the Sea.
The new chair was installed in the recently-completed gateway to the Calavera Hills Community Park in Carlsbad, at the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive at 2997 Glasgow Drive.

I took a drive down the Coast Road yesterday after an errand in Carlsbad Village. It was a rather June Gloomy day with a pretty heavy marine layer, yet it was sunny at my house just a few miles away.
I decided to take a short walk at Terramar Beach - my favorite - and discovered this rather whimsical sculpture perched on the bluff above the ocean. The sculpture is behind a fence and it was a challenge snapping a decent photo, but you get the idea. The gray day did not help.

The 22nd Annual Art in the Village Fair for 2020 was scheduled for June 28th, earlier in the summer than in the past, but has now been moved to August 23rd, given the pandemic and current restrictions.
This popular annual art fair is being sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association, and will take place in downtown Carlsbad Village along State Street and Grand Avenue as it always does. The event is FREE and runs from 9 am until 5 pm.

I was in the Village the other day running some errands, and taking some photos I plan to use in some future posts (and to check on all the new residential building that is happening) and walked by the Fiesta Liquor Mini Mart in the artsy North State area.
