I spent part of the weekend in Idyllwild, an arts town in the Santa Rosa Mountains, about 90 miles inland. The town is also known for offering some of the best hiking around (next time, perhaps).
These photos are of Suicide Rock, as seen from Humber Park, the start of one of the more difficult trails in the area. While we didn't see any, this peak is a popular rock climbing challenge. Carlsbad is a coastal San Diego community, located about 35 miles north of the city, offering a broad range of housing, activities and scenery for its residents and tourists.
