copyright violations: Someone Took my Photo...but I got an Attribution!

Many of us have experienced, unfortunately, others taking our posts and/or our photos and using them as their own. Obviously that's a copyright violation to be dealt with. I suspect I have writings or photos out there that people have stolen without me being aware of it. But someone took my photo, AND I got an attribution for it. And this gentleman sent me an email to let me know. Turns out Pete Bayard is appearing at the Tower Bar in San Diego tonight with his band Super Buffet, loved my photo of the Tower Building (it's pretty cool isn't it?), and wanted to promote his appearance on

copyright violations: Youtube and Animoto and copyright issues

If you are using Animoto (or similar services) to create "video" slideshows that you then upload to YouTube, where there is music available to you as a subscriber, you may still run into an issue with YouTube. And like I did, get an email from YT letting you know of a copyright violation. Freak-out time. The good thing is as a user we do have the right under the licensing from Animoto to use this music, but what to do about YouTube?!
