We were at the end of a 5 day trip to wine country (Napa and Sonoma) back in 2010, and on the way back to Carlsbad took another day to visit our daughter and her husband who had just relocated from LA to Oakland for their new jobs.

The new construction homes in the planned community of Robertson Ranch in Carlsbad have been selling well since 2016, and construction continues, although the availability of homes is quite limited as they near completion.
There are a total of 308 homes in the community, plus 2 apartment complexes (1 affordable housing, the other 55+) currently under construction. The community includes a beautiful resident’s recreation center with pool and other amenities. There is also a commercial facility to be built but the retailer has not yet been announced. Our well-known, and popular, Flower Fields in Carlsbad will be opening to the public on March 1, less than a week away.
The Carlsbad Flower Fields are spectacular, as this photo and video show, but it takes a while to reach their peak (typically mid-March to mid-April depending on the seasonal conditions) so don’t expect this beauty on day 1, but it’s fun to anticipate what lies ahead. (video is from 2015.)
