It's Disneyland, of course, according to the official tagline.
We spent a day there back in 2007 with our daughter and her husband. She had won an award at work which was tickets for 4 plus dinner at their famous Club 33. It was great fun, and I was definitely happy to not have to fork out much money. Admission these days for 4 adults is about $400! (20 comments)
Crystal Cove is a state park along the SoCal coast just north of Laguna Beach, and includes the historic Crystal Cove cottage colony.
Apart from being a charming look back in the past and a fine place to vist (the Beachcomber Restaurant right on the beach is terrific!), these cottages can be rented during the year.
High demand from regulars might make particular favorites more difficult to rent and reservations fill up quickly. But I understand there can be some saem day openings at certain times of the year.

While you can take the freeway, the drive out through Temecula on Route 74 and through the mountains to the California desert cities is spectacular, with beautiful mountain views, thousands of acres of open land, agricultural land, and much more.
