Video Prompted These Relocating Buyers to Call Me

This is my favorite story about the value of video in lead generation, that resulted in success!

We all know video has become a huge component of many buyer and seller searches, with YouTube the maven of video sharing and search. It’s not just for listings, but for information about communities, “how to do it” videos, agents and their services, market reports, and so much more.  We all love video, and YouTube videos rack up an amazing number of views daily. Check out these impressive YouTube statistics! How can you ignore this?!

video: Why I Use Video to Market Your Carlsbad Home for Sale - 09/09/13 07:15 AM
Why I Use Video to Market Your Carlsbad Home for Sale
There are plenty of things in my arsenal for marketing and selling Carlsbad homes for sale.

One of them, and it's a biggie, is video.

Interesting thing about video…while we know, given the huge number of videos on YouTube and how readily videos are found in the search engines, a lot of real estate agents aren’t using them in their marketing of homes for sale.

Indeed, one recent poll found that while about 75% of sellers wanted video as part of the marketing plan, only … (17 comments)

video: The Power of the Triangle - 10/05/12 09:48 AM
The Power of the Triangle
Make no mistake, the triangle might just be the most powerful element you can include in your blogging.

Oh, that’s not to say your voice and content aren’t very important, which of course they are.

And we all know a great title will draw readers in, and photos and/or graphics add punch, emphasis and visual interest plus they can say a lot more than words.

But don’t let the power of the triangle, or your fear of using it in your posts, prevent you from missing some of the best … (11 comments)

video: I LOVE Zumocast - 10/07/11 02:13 PM
I LOVE Zumocast
I used a new application today and fell in love…immediately.

I have now been 48 hours without my Blackberry, having said goodbye on Wednesday. I am now the proud owner of a Droid3 which I am still getting used to.

Cell phones are sooo passé.

I used Zumocast (by Motorola) today for the first time at a listing I have to access some old photos from the property from my laptop at home to show my client – we were doing some staging of the furniture that had been removed some time ago … (16 comments)

video: The Fountains at Bellagio in Las Vegas - 07/24/10 11:40 AM
The fountains at Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas are pretty famous, and it's easy to see why.

Amazing fountain displays with tremendous variety are choreographed to music ranging from broadway hits to rock, jazz to patriotic in the human-made lake in front of the Bellagio on The Strip (3600 Las Vegas Boulevard South).
There are a ton of videos and photos on-line, of course, but there is nothing like seeing the real thing. You can usually expect crowds along the walkways to get the best views and it was jammed while I was there at the … (11 comments)

Shea Touch is an amazing company.

The women are employed to sustain the farms, harvest and process the Shea butter; children benefit from food, homes, education and more from  their mothers stable employment and support efforts from OPCAI, a non-profit organization. video: Escondido Real Estate - 1136 Hubbard Avenue in Escondido California 92027 (OFF MARKET June 2010) - 01/09/10 08:21 AM
Panoramic view homes with land are a rare find, especially near the coast. At least at a price folks consider somewhat affordable, say a million or so.

Inland, such as in the Escondido real estate market, one can still find properties like this, although they are somewhat rare, for well under a million, with the trade off being a bit further from the beach but having less marine layer and warmed temperatures in the summers.

El Camino Real in Encinitas, California - The Shopping Corridor

El Camino Real, the "King's Highway," in a main thoroughfare running from Oceanside south to Cardiff. The road, which roughly parallels the ocean, is a good alternative to commuting on the 5 freeway during rush hour as there is less traffic, although you have to deal with stop lights.
El Camino Real takes you through residential and agricultural areas as well as several significant shopping areas, the best and most diverse being the El Camino Shopping Corridor in Encinitas (from Encinitas Boulevard north to Leucadia Boulevard).

video: Cardiff Real Estate – A VIDEO Tour of the Poinsettia Heights Neighborhood in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California - 12/16/09 03:50 PM
Cardiff, or more properly known as Cardiff-by-the-Sea, is a small seaside community just south of Encinitas (they have their own zip code, 92007, but technically are part of Encinitas - town government, etc.). Cardiff has a long history as a surfing community, as many do in this area, and despite many changes in recent years - shops, restaurants, new and remodeled housing - it still retains the small-town feel so many residents and visitors enjoy.

video: Get WOWED at the Fountain of Youth Juice Bar in Encinitas- Owner Abdul Shares His Thoughts (VIDEO) - 11/23/09 02:03 AM
Encinitas Juice Bar Fountain of Youth Juice WOWs Customers
The best Encinitas juice bar, from what I've been told by lots of folks, is Fountain of Youth Juice on El Camino Real near Encinitas Boulevard. I know a number of folks who stop in religiously for various fresh fruit and organic vegetable juices, their famous 3-day cleanse, the very popular WOW juice combination, or to grab one of their terrific sandwiches.
You can read more about Fountain of Youth Juice here. And visit their Facebook page.

Lots of people feel that Queen Eileen's is the best Encinitas gift shop around to look for gifts of all kinds in downtown Encinitas California.

A visit to this amazing store in the heart of Encinitas's shopping area near the beach will quickly show you why that's so.

video: Top of the World Views at Double Peak Park in San Elijo Hills, San Marcos California - 11/17/09 11:54 AM
I took a walk around Double Peak Park in San Elijo Hills, a master planned community in San Marcos, California. This newly created park (less than 1 year old) has incredible views in all directions, south to San Diego, north to Orange and Riverside Counties and of course west to the ocean.
It was a bit hazy and breezy and with the sun there are some moments when the visibility is not the best. It's well worth checking out if you are in the area.

video: Blogging Withdrawal, A Vacation, and a Hurricane - 11/09/09 10:14 AM
I just returned from a week in Cancun.
Yes, it was vacation, and there was NO blogging withdrawal (OK so I did activate a couple of draft posts that were done before leaving but it took 30 seconds to do that).
And there WAS a hurricane - IDA was her name. She flipped from tropical storm to hurricane, to tropical storm and back to hurricane while we were there, AND decided to hide the sun, and provide plenty of rain and wind for 5 of the 7 days of our trip. Despite that there was plenty of great food, it was … (14 comments)

video: What More Needs to be Said? The Ocean on Video - 11/04/09 02:48 AM
There's not much that I like better than spending time at the beach. While it's only a short distance from my house, it seems I just don't get there often enough.
I was out on a long bike ride recently with my camera and stopped along the beach where the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon joins the ocean in Carlsbad California. The jetties there provide some interesting photo ops, but a video seemed even better, since the tide was coming in and the waves were a decent size. So, for those of who who cannot get to the ocean very often, or who … (18 comments)

video: Run Rabbit Run - Humor in My Backyard - 05/02/09 12:59 PM
I have a funny backyard. At least at times. It appears to be that time of year, again, and the rabbits are very active. Things have been heating up recently, so to speak, so fortunately I had my Flip vido camera nearby. The duck, who was dining at the bird feeder on the ground took it for a while then said "I'm outi." Good for a laugh, and it keeps the cats occupied.

video: 5 Ways to Add Punch to Your Community Profiles - 05/01/09 02:46 AM
We all know to write original content that is of interest to consumers who are looking to buy and/or sell.
And while many articles should probably be about the buying and selling process, writing local content posts is smart...for sharing your knowledge, attracting business, and for SEO purposes. That's not news for anyone who has been blogging for a little while.
Writing Localism posts is a personal choice, and many writers are on board. Others aren't, some because they choose not to be and perhaps get plenty of business through focusing on other topics. Some folks may be resisting because they … (12 comments)

A VISUAL TOUR OF CARDIFF BY THE SEA

Cardiff (a.k.a. Cardiff by the Sea) is a charming, and eclectic, beach town a few miles south of Carlsbad bordering the San Elijo Lagoon. While it is officially part of Encinitas, Cardiff has its own zip code (92007) and a distinctive feel in the two residential areas west of the 5 and near the downtown area - The Walking District and the Composer District.

video: The Skills of a Web 2.0 Practitioner - 03/21/09 09:41 AM
The last several years have seen unprecedented advances in the use of the Internet, and many people have discovered numerous ways technology can alter their personal and business lives.
With these technological advances has come the opportunity to acquire, and use, new skills.
As REALTORs in a customer service business that has increasingly become more competitive, these skills can lead to new marketing techniques, novel ways of developing and maintaining relationships, and foster the attitude that technology can serve (often, but not always) to make business and personal life simpler and easier to manage.
With that, however, has come the expectation … (34 comments)

The Carlsbad real estate market offer buyers a number of choices of new construction housing, including resales of newly built homes. The La Costa area in South Carlsbad has a couple of planned communities that still have new homes for sale. The most dramatic is La Costa Ridge, a gated community built on the highest point in South Carlsbad.
