Certainly one of the more beautiful and touching memorial ceremonies in Hawai’i is the Lantern Floating Ceremony hosted by Shinnyo-en.
 
Annually, since 1999, the Shinnyo-en school of Buddhism hosts the Lantern Floating Ceremony held here in Honolulu at Ala Moana Beach Park in Kaka’ako. Lanterns will be available to participants from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on which one may write remembrances. 
 
During the ceremony at sunset one can personally place their lantern along with the other participants into the ocean lagoon at Ala Moana Beach Park. One may also go to the website and write … (4 comments)
