Today is the beginning of the end of the old lodge.
Demo begins today on the lodge. The demo project should last 2 weeks to a month.
The RFP bid went to Christian Container http://www.christiancontainer.net/home.nxg
The owner of Christian Container lives in the community.
There are a few items that are being saved and put into the new lodge. A few large timbers from inside. They will be made into mantles for the new lodge. 200 SQ of the rough sawn siding will also be saved to be re-install in another area as long as the carpenter ants have not already been there. The Wall Street Journal indicated that Legislation introduced in Congress Wednesday would expand the tax credit now limited to first-time homebuyers to any purchaser of a home and increase the maximum available to $15,000. Good news!The tax credit passed earlier this year is limited to $8,000 and has income caps.U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, a Georgia Republican, introduced the legislation, and Senate Banking Committee Chair Christopher Dodd, a Connecticut Democrat, quickly stepped up to co-sponsor.

The Federal Reserve's Beige Book report released Wednesday found five of the Fed's 12 regions reporting improved business activity. Most reported an increase in home sales and some stabilization in new-home construction, albeit at low levels. Good news!

pocono lake: Contracts Up 1st Time in 8 Years

The national news this morning had more good news for our industry.
They reported that the National Association of Realtors reported yesterday its seasonally adjusted index of sales contracts signed in April increased by 6.7% which far exceeding analysts forecasts. Its the biggest monthly jump since October 2001, and pending sales rose 9.2 percent.
They indicated rates remaining low and the $8,000 tax credit is what continues to be the motivator and may signal the slump is ending.
Sounds like good news to me!
