In recent months, there have been differing opinions on whether it's good to have thousands of friends or hundreds of friends on Facebook. In my opinion, most articles are based on opinion and just argue one side. Todd Carpenter wrote this blog post not to long ago. - Less is definitely more - Todd makes several very good points. Here is a reason why Todd has decided to reduce his list of friends on facebook.

I don't consider myself the guru of social media networking or know all about the different marketing aspects of it, but I do think I have a good handle on it. What I don't understand and what irks the hell out of me, are those direct messages from those that you follow on Twitter. Espcially those that send you an auto direct message thanking you for following them, but they must validate you first. I will get there in a minute.

So what is Klout ?? The Klout Score is the measurement of your overall online influence. I am new to this system and not an expert, but I am starting to understand it gradually. Your Klout score can range from 1 to 100 and the higher scores just represent your sphere of influence online. Klout uses up to 35 different variables from Facebook and Twitter which measure your True Reach, Amplification Probability, and Network Score.

Blogging, is it dead or dying? Social Media Networking, is it a fad or will it just be dust in the wind by next year. Shopping online? Searching online? Where does it all begin and where can it all end. Now, I am not an expert when it comes to such subjects, nor do I do this for a living, but I do have my own strong opinions in regards to these specific topics. Remember back in the 60's and 70's, when so many Americans were up in arms about 'Big Brother' watching us. And for the fact that so many believe that this is still happening. But let's take this a step further. What about those online that either search for a specific topic. Or that person that decides to Google you? As I wrote a few weeks ago, Google can be one of your better testimonials. But better yet, that person can find you online through such sites as Facebook, Twitter, or myspace.
