There has been a major discussion whether or not Pre-Approval letters will be like dinosaurs, extinct. It was started with this post by Marilyn Boudreaux - Pre-Approvals Disappearing? - It was then followed by Lenn Harley's post, Calling all loan officers on Active Rain?? What are the facts here?? No Pre-Approval letters??? - After reading every comment on both posts, it sounded like some realtors just wanted to walk the plank per se. Juggling is an art, wouldn't you agree? Well, so is pre-qualifying a borrower for a mortgage. In my opinion, it takes more than just basic knowledge and simple math skills. In the last few days, there has been a growing debate out there that even the experienced realtors can pre-qualify a borrower. It doesn't matter if you : -- know your borrowers credit scores -- know that they are putting 20% down -- know that they make x,y,z a year and the simple math says they (13 comments)
(this is not about all realtors, just a few, and it's those that will hurt both the buyer and seller) You would think with a tough real estate market, that realtors would want to be on top of their game, both for sellers and buyers. I think some realtors still live in the dark ages and this can hurt either the seller or the buyer. I know many realtors and loan officers are passionate in what they do, but being one-sided, doesn't make it right. Can we call it tough love, seeming to be harsh in our thoughts (109 comments)
I just want to educate people about mortgages and the process.
In regards to lending, I am very creative, intuitive, honest, and one who communicates information, may it be good or bad. I am a loan officer that looks out for your best interest.
