marketing: Slogan and Branding Ideas For Real Estate Agents - 10/27/16 08:16 AM

More Pull - Less Bull

About a week or so ago, BarbaraTodaro wrote a blog post about slogans and branding.
I think most agents agree, they can learn something about marketing from Barbara that will help make their phone ring!
I think marketing and branding are part of the overall package that agents need to do business, and they go hand in hand with your website, business card, etc.
There are many companies that can help agents with branding, marketing, and slogans.
The website listed below that might help agents with slogans. It could help you find a good slogan for your website, or it might … (7 comments)

marketing: Phone Books and Yellow Pages for Real Estate - 06/12/16 09:27 PM
Since reading a erecent blog:

Does anyone still use the Yellow Pages? I don’t even recall the last time that I looked at a phone book or the yellow pages. Were emails included? "

I was reminded just how often we still use paper phone books around here. We have several we use on a regular basis. This photo is just a few of them. We also have ADC maps for several surrounding counties in … (6 comments)

marketing: We Won't Lose Scent of Our Home Sellers and Buyers Goals - 03/22/16 01:14 AM
Just like a good tracking dog, we use our legs, eyes, ears, and nose when tracking down buyers for our listings, and for finding homes for our buyers.

FOR SELLERS: We use as many marketing methods as possible to generate a steady supply of interested buyers. Those methods include MLS, Newspapers, Magazines, Post Cards, Flyers, A variety of Blogging Platforms, Signs, Brochures, Websites, SMS, 24 Hour Toll Free Hotline, Syndication, Open Houses, Broker Opens, Video, Virtual Tours, Facebook Pages and Groups, LinkedIn, and more!

FOR BUYERS:  We use many of the same methods to find them the house that meets their needs. Those … (2 comments)

marketing: Testing New Free Canva Photo Editor - Pros and Cons - 11/30/15 08:36 PM

The above photo I took is of a painting done by K. Howsare of Lovettsville VA. It's a jpeg 3310 x 4278 pixels. I uploaded into AR without any problem. It took about 1 minute to load, then I dragged it down to the size you see here.
Next, I uploaded it into the Canva photo editor. That went ok in the usual waiting time. I then made a few edits. I chose one of the filters provided by Canva. There were only a few filters that can see myself using. I then adjusted the contrast a little. Then did a horizontal … (4 comments)

marketing: Going Ape Over New Photo Uploading - 08/26/14 07:29 AM
Well, looks like someone was listening when agents kept complaining about the previous photo upload process. I wonder how mant photos never got uploaded due to the last time consuming method we were forced to use. I know I deleted a few blog posts before posting because I got tired of dealing with the photo upload issues. Just tested this revised process out, and it seems to work fine and saves time. Next i'll test the drag and drop method and see how that works. I assume it will be almost as easy as uploading.
With all the time and money … (2 comments)

marketing: 86 Posts in a Row. How Many Posts are Too Many? - 07/20/14 08:09 AM
Wow, this is a first, and I thought that maybe there was a virus or Anita's blog had been hacked? If I counted right, I scrolled through and counted 86 posts in a row by Anita Clark? Maybe this is a new strategy? I don't think anyone gets points for anything over a certain amount? But not all post are intended for accumulating points, they are intended to market.
I wouldn't have time, and even if I did, I don't think I would ever post more than a 1-3 posts in a day. If I get one a day that is … (8 comments)

marketing: Show Instructions -The Good and Bad of Last Weeks Showings - 03/17/14 01:02 AM
Well, it still amazes me how lazy and pathetic some listing agents are, and how clueless some sellers are. I had showed 1-5 properties per day 6 of the last 7 days. These homes were located in Haymarket VA, Leesburg VA, Aldie VA, Fairfax VA, Falls Church VA,and Sterling VA, with the majority being in Haymarket on Bull Run Mountain area, and Sterling. Buyer didn't want HOA and wants to stay under $400,000.00, and prefers 1/2 acre or more, although we did see some in Sterling Park on 1/4 acre lots. The total amount of houses we saw was right at … (6 comments)

marketing: FREE Calenders for 2014 Make Great Marketing Tool - 12/31/13 11:05 PM
Yes, banks, stores, misc business, and even other real estate companies mail or pass out FREE calenders. Plus, you can buy them fairling cheap at almost any retail or office supply store. But if you haven't had your own printed, or just haven't picked one up yet, or, if you need multiple calenders throughout the year, here is a good place to customize and download as many copies as you need. I know most agents can think of several ways to use calenders in their business. Here is one place I use on a regular basis: Listing Appointments. I always keep … (2 comments)

marketing: Top 6 Topics Brokers Called Legal Hotline About JAN 2011 - MAR 2013 - 04/13/13 04:33 AM
These 5 topics appear in the top 10 from 2011 - 1rst quarter of 2013. #1- Property Management #2- Disclosure#3- Compensation / Commission #4- DPOR / Licensing #5- Advertising #6- Agency
I suppose the increase in short sales, foreclosures, and investors is the reason for Property Management interest to increase among agents? Disclosure? Do many brokers and agents still have lots of questions about all the new disclosures? #3- Compensation / Commission? Wow, that seems surprising to me that so many brokers have to call and ask about compensation procedures? #4 Licensing- Also one that surprises me. #5 Advertising- I can … (1 comments)
