This morning I received a call from another agent in the area asking if I'd be willing to take on a short sale client. My response was, ABSOLUTELY and minutes later I was put in touch with the homeowner. After a lengthy discussion with a very lovely woman, I have discovered she has not been able to pay her mortgage payment including her property taxes for four months and has not been able to pay her HOA dues for a year. She has moved to another city to seek employment and that unfortunately failed. She has made several attempts to lease and (4 comments)

I'm hearing more about short sales everywhere I turn (tv, print and online), but I am hearing many stories about homeowners who become someones latest victim. This someone stated they could help the homeowner avoid a short sale or a even foreclosure by doing a loan modification. A few important things to note:1. You the homeowner shouldn't pay any fees to a third party to assist you with a loan modification.2. Speak with a real estate agent, especially a real estate agent who fully understands how short sales and modifications work - there is criteria you must meet to be eligible.3.
