home staging: If I Stage my Matthews-Mint Hill Home will you guarantee me it will sell? - 11/15/11 05:12 AM
If I Stage my Matthews-Mint Hill Home, will you guarantee me it will sell?  I get asked that question a lot on listing appointments.   The short answer - no I cannot guarantee you if you stage your Matthews-Mint Hill Home that it will sell.  The long answer, home staging is just one ingredient in the recipe that makes for a successful transaction of your Matthews home for sale or your Mint Hill home for sale.  Home Staging alone does not guarantee a sale.

However, there are some things I can guarantee you.   If you stage your Matthews-Mint Hill home and do not price it appropriately, I can almost guarantee you … (22 comments)

Preparing your Home for Sale Part 5, Accessorizing.  You may have read my series of posts 1-4, this will be the last one for now imparting my wisdom for anyone looking for some quick tips to help them prepare their home for sale.
Accessorizing can be fun, it can be overwhelming and it is where many homeowners think they know what they are doing, but usually over do it.  As a home stager we are taught to edit and eliminate what is not necessary or doesn't add value.  Too much accessorizing can become clutter.  It can also be a sensitive issue … (3 comments)

home staging: Preparing your Home for Sale Part 2 - 05/11/11 02:30 PM
Peparing your Home for Sale Part 2 de-cluttering.  I started this blog yesterday with Preparing your Home for Sale Part 1.  In an effort to help sellers and agents alike understand the basics of what I do when I work with a client to prepare their home for sale.  Now to some people this stuff is common sense, to others traumatic.  I promise no one has ever been harmed or needed therapy from home staging (We track this sort of stuff, LOL).  Besides if I bring you an offer  today, you are going to have to pack up this stuff anyway.  … (3 comments)

What Buyers look for in a Home, here in Charlotte, NC is probably similar to other areas  As a listing agent and a home stager it is important to know what buyers look for in a home.  Being an agent gives me insight on many levels and contributes to what I recommend sellers do when they are preparing their home for the market.
How does being an agent help me as a home stager? For starters I have shown several thousand houses to dozens of buyers since I have been in real estate.  Trust me when I tell you my job … (3 comments)

home staging: Does Staging your home for sale mean it will sell faster and for more money? - 01/22/11 08:48 AM
Does Staging your home for sale mean it will sell faster and for more money? Yes, No, Maybe.  I have read several blog posts and their responses recently from Lenn Harley, Karen Bernetti and Julea Joseph about home staging, stagers, their value to the sales process (as well as their credibility) that have inspired me to write a post that offers my two cents.
There is much debate between agents and stagers over the value of staging.  The responses from those debates has led me to believe that we have not done a good job at educating each other on what … (14 comments)

home staging: What do stagers do when they prepare a home for sale in Charlotte, NC? - 01/10/11 10:47 AM
What do stagers do when they prepare a home for sale? That is a question I get asked all the time when I meet people for the first time and tell them that I am a home stager.  The short answer is I prepare a house for sale, (regardless of price or location) to appeal to the broadest range of buyers.  I also tell people when sellers make the decision to stage their home it gives them a competitive edge against other similar homes in our current buyer's market so they can beat out competing listings and sell quicker (that competition … (1 comments)
