One of three families to first settle the wilderness that is now Dripping Springs, Dr. Joseph and Sarah Pound built a log cabin on this site in the 1850's. Some of the highlights are this old covered wagon, a rock smokehouse, a turning windmill, and a "hot frame," an underground greenhouse that stored plants and herbs through the winter.

After thousands of years of erosion, the dome of an underground river collapsed and the beautiful Hamilton Pool Preserve was formed. There is a 45 foot waterfall, an enormous grotto, a great swimming hole, hiking trails,and much beauty to behold.
