After two failed attempts to get a free listing in the Reminder phone book I'm happy to say that JenRan Realty, LLC is part of the Putnam/Willimantic Yellow Book. According to the sales representative, Lorraine Nelson, people are still looking to the phone book for services. Yellow Book has an extensive advertising campaign which serves as a helpful reminder to pick up the phone book when we don't know who to call. One of the first questions I'm often asked from prospective agents is, "how many listings do you have?" Since this is a question with no right or wrong answer I simply tell them. What is the best way to get new agents? I have blogged about what agents look for in a Brokerage, that was helpful and now I need to find agents. I've run ads, have an 'agents wanted' block on my site, the agent I have now is helping to spread the word as well. At one point I called the local community college who had a real estate licensing class in hopes I could leave info with them that they could hand out at the final class. Not only does the rooster weather-vane fit right in with rural CT, it represents the constant changes in the real estate market.
