back links: The Basics of Online SEO Backlinks for Real Estate
- 06/19/14 06:14 AM
As an Ambassador I get asked about SEO a lot and that's great; it's what I'm here for. But I feel that I have talked about everything under the sun and that there is really nothing new in the SEO world other than Google getting more and more picky and strict as to what they require for decent ranking. Because we manage several dozen real estate websites we can see what does work and what doesn't and how to give our clients that little extra boost they may need to really stand out among their competition online. back links: "Just Throwing Crap Out There and Hope it Sticks" & Other Things SEO's Say
- 10/08/13 04:33 AM
Yes, I literally heard that today from another SEO company... although they didn't say "crap". No wonder SEO companies have a bad rap... they have no idea what they are doing and people pay thousands for nothing! I've also heard, "we put content out there that no one would want to read with your link in it.." are you kidding me?! Every piece of content should be intentional and purposeful always leading back to the client's website and provide good information for the customer. But the one I heard today was ridiculous... "I just throw s**t out there and hope it (26 comments)
back links: What's the Deal with LINKS? Internal, External, Quality and Quantity
- 09/12/13 01:18 AM
How many do you need, where do you need them and why? Links, links, links… You gotta have them to rank but have too many of the wrong ones and you start to get penalized. Writing great content might not count for anything if nobody’s linking to it nor can anybody find it. A link is simply a word, phrase or URL that is attached to a web address or URL. Links can be all over the Internet; in emails, websites, and on social media. Links take us to other sources and websites and direct us where to go, but too (81 comments)
back links: Guest Blogging Doesn't Have to be the Red-Headed Stepchild
- 05/24/13 09:10 AM
Is guest blogging still a viable source for back links? Guest blogging means blogging on someone else’s website or platform for the purpose of adding your own link in the content. You can accept guest blogs or you can create guest blogs and both are perfectly acceptable in SEO world if in fact you’re writing good content. We’ve always said that Content is King and this is never more poignant than with Google’s new algorithm update just this week called Penguin 2.0. This falls on the heels of last year’s Penguin algorithm change where too many similar keyword anchor text links (47 comments)
back links: Thousands of Links may not Make a Difference
- 02/26/13 06:43 AM
How Many Back Links is Enough? We’ve been stressing the importance of back links for some time now and Google has always emphasized the importance of a back link but there are good quality back links and very poor quality back links and just because you have thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of back links doesn’t mean your site is going to rank any better. Many times real estate agents will just glean back links from one source or another instead of spreading them out across the board and Google will sometimes discount all of the links from one source combining (18 comments)

Types of back links to avoid If you know a little bit about SEO you know that back links are one of the major components to getting your site noticed and ranked. But are there negative back links that could be harming your site rather than benefiting it? With Google’s Penguin and Panda update this year, many of these sites with low quality back links have completely dropped off the search engine results pages and those with high quality back links, even just a few, rose to the top. So how do you know what is a high-quality on what the (53 comments)
back links: Do Back Links from Social Media Impact My SEO?
- 09/03/12 05:59 AM
How social links have an impact on your overall SEO As we talk about back links and how to gain them from high-quality sites or from blog comments and guest blogging, we can't leave out the very important social media back links. Although most of these back links, meaning a link from a post that you put on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Google Plus, are no follow back links, the way Google changes their algorithms, these may not always be no follow tags. Just because one area is not being utilized as much as another doesn't mean that next week it won't be as important. (34 comments)
back links: What NOT to Do When Optimizing Your Site
- 07/10/12 10:33 PM
Don't make these vital mistakes when optimizing your Website or Blog 1. Using your keywords too much and over-emphasizing. A bolded keyword once or twice in the content is plenty. If you have the topic and keyword or phrase in the title and description and then talk about it in the content, search engines AND readers will know what it's about and stay to read. 2. Buying Links - If it seems to good to be true, it is. Don't let those flashy ads that say "Get 5,000 backlinks for $19.95" fool you. It's the closest way to the bottom. 3. Letting a (99 comments)

- 06/08/11 09:09 AM
How to Check Who's Linking to You - How, Why and What They Use We all know (or probably should by now being on ActiveRain) that back links are a good thing. Well, most back links that is. It's another site saying, "Hey, this site over here has some great points on this topic, why not check it out too." This backlink can come from (31 comments)
