Supply of Rentals is UP! Rents are coming Down in Hawaii! Well, a little bit!!! Most of us in the property management business have recently recognized that the market has softened and that we are not getting the number of qualified tenants applying for a rental to which we have grown accustomed over the past several years. Mostly, we have attributed it to home owners who, being unable to roll their investment homes quickly, have put them on the rental market. Yup, it's said that we Property Managers are rolling in money. I know that I am having a hard time making it to the bank every day with all of the money I earn.

Would you believe that people are still out looking for rentals. On Saturday the 22d of December I showed a rental to eight prospective tenants. Two applied; both wanted to move in like immediately. With a little effort and an eye to customer service, I was able to do the necessary due dilligence checks and get a tenant into her new home on the 22d so she could have Christmas in a place of her own.
