santa cruz: Cycle fans get ready! Tour of California is coming to Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is hosting the 2nd leg finish of the Tour of California this Monday. The finish line will be right near Downtown Santa Cruz. This is a biking town, with many avid road bikers and mountain bikers so locals are very excited about the tour making a stop here. And having Lance Armstrong in the race doesn't hurt either. Hopefully the weather will give us a short break!
Here are some shots taken by me in Santa Cruz and people enjoying a few of our many outdoor activities. Standup paddleboarding has become really popular in the past year or so. I was holding open this gorgeous home yesterday with incredible views, see below. Not a bad place to spend a Saturday afternoon and I got quite a few people by as well. Being that this home is listed at $3,850,000 I know there are not a lot of buyers in this price range but you never know who will walk in. I figured it was better than sitting the fixer down the street although there are probably more buyers for that one. Still 75 degrees here in Santa Cruz and the beautiful Monterey Bay Area. There were surf contests all weekend and people out enjoying the weather and all our community has to offer. People love to talk about the weather and I guess I fall in there too. It has been absolutely beautiful summer weather here in Santa Cruz this week with 70+ temp. I actually pray for rain/snow because we need it but it has been like skipping time and being in summer for a week in mid-January. I walk my dogs several times a week on West Cliff Dr and it is packed right now! So get out there and enjoy while you can. … (5 comments)

I wanted to comment on a positive trend I have noticed in my personal Real Estate business this year. I service the Santa Cruz County in California which is a higher priced beach area just south of Silicon Valley and north of Monterey. I was born and raised here and like many of my peers couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I've tried it (I've lived in Argentina, Spain, Italy) but I always come home.
