pueblo: Relaying for life, and a new t-shirt, too - 06/06/07 02:06 PM
When my oldest son and I walk in the Relay for Life this weekend, we'll be wearing our brand-new t-shirts.  My son designed them for us, and it's becoming a tradition for us to create a new t-shirt for each year's Relay.  You probably know that the Relay for Life supports the American Cancer Society.  But did you also know that it's lots of fun?
Here in Pueblo we relay on campus at CSU-Pueblo.  So it's a scenic walk among the trees, fountains, and campus hills.  If you're around on Friday evening, come on out and enjoy the music, the food, and … (3 comments)

"History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are."
This quote from David McCullough reminds me how much Colorado's past has influenced its present. Nowhere is this more evident than at Bents Old Fort. This reconstructed site near La Junta was the major trading fort on the Santa Fe Trail during the 1830's. Now it's a living national historic site, with the emphasis on living.

pueblo: Pueblo's dilemma: Ft.Carson housing v. Pinon Canyon expansion - 04/19/07 07:18 AM
This morning's (April 19) Pueblo Chieftain had an informative article in the Business section, "Pueblo to gain from Fort Carson."  The reporter, James Amos, described how our Pueblo real estate market should be impacted by the addition of 10,000 more troops at Ft.Carson.  For those of us in real estate, it should mean more sales, more inspections, more appraisals, more insurance sales, etc.
