The Fisher Center is located at Bard College in the town of Red Hook. This is an important cultural center in the community; and people come from all over to be entertained by variety of shows. What’s happening at the Fisher Center this summer? This summer like most summers, there is a lot going on at the Fisher Center; something for everyone. Bard Summerscape begins July 5th and run until August 18. What is summerscape? it is seven weeks of opera, film, music, theater and dance. Opera There will be 5 performances. Free Concert at the Fisher Center, performance by The Bard Orchestra The Richard B. Fisher Center at Bard College is a cultural Hub in the Mid Hudson Valley. Always offering a variety of events; some at a fee and others free to the community. The Bard Orchestra with Geoffrey McDonald as conductor and Alan Annibal as assistant conductor along with members of the Orchestra will be offering a free performance on November 28th at 8PM at the Sosnoff Theater. The Fisher Center located on Bard College campus is such a treasure for the Red Hook NY community. There have been many great performance held in this great space. The first time I saw the building I was not that impressed because it was so different from the other structures around but as time went by my appreciation grew especially after going to performances there.

A free Percussion Concert will be held at the Sosnoff Theater at the Fisher Center on the Bard Campus. We are fortunate to have a cultural icon such as the Fisher Cenetr in our backyard. I am sure you are familiar with percussion instruments such as drums and pipes, however there are hundreds of percussion instruments. At the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston there are about 1100 items from around the world.

Each year during July and August Bard college hosts 7 weeks of delighful performances of film, music, opera, dance, theater in conjunction with the Bard music festival and film festival. This truly culturally rich period known as Bard Summerscape is eagerly anticipated by many. There are so many summer activities in the area such as; sailing on the Hudson River, biking, hiking, picnics, fairs, and antiquing but at the same time it is great knowing that your evening could be filled with culturally enriching performances.
