April Personal Income rose 0.4%, matching expectations. The Chicago PMI regional manufacturing index & Consumer Confidence were both lower than expected. No more economic data will be released today. Compared to Friday's closing, the market has opened with a 0.125 worsening to the Points/Credits associated with any given interest rate option. At the end of last week, Mortgage Backed Security (MBS) prices rallied to the best closing levels of the year on very light volume. The move appears to have been overdone, and MBS have begun this week by giving back Friday's gains. Construction Spending came in higher than expected and the biggest gain in the past 5 months. Compared to yesterday's closing, the market has opened with a 0.125 worsening to the Points/Credits associated with any given interest rate option. July Industrial Production increased 0.4% from June, which was close to expectations. Capacity Utilization rose to the highest level since June 2006. July PPI increased 0.1% from June, matching the consensus, and it was 1.7% higher than one year ago. Core PPI, which excludesfood & energy, increased 0.2%, also m atching the consensus. Core PPI was 1.6% higher than one year ago. Empire State dropped to 14.7, below the consensus of 20.0. Consumer Sentiments came in below expectations. It has been a fairly quiet morning thus far in relation to market movement. November Core PCE inflation matched the consensus with an increase of 0.1% from October (only 1.1% higher than 1 year ago). Personal income came in weaker than expected. Consumer sentiment also came in slightly below expectations. The Dow is up 75 points, mortgage pricing is +/- .125 from Friday's close.
