Here we are nearly 1/2 way through the year and so far, the Puget Sound region has not been rocked by the housing collapse seen in other parts of the country. For example, an article I read in the Puget Sound Business Journal last week compared the housing market in Seattle with that of San Diego. In Seattle, there were just over 5,000 homes in foreclosure. In San Diego however, there were just over 56,000. More than 10 times the number in Seattle. Well folks, the numbers are in! We are STILL seeing inventory levels creep up around the sound as well as prices increase. All except Pierce county. Pierce county prices were off by forty one dollars over last year. OK, that's probably not even worth mentioning, but in the interest of accuracy, I had to point out that the average sales price in pierce county was off a bit from last year. Puyallup's trend followed along with Pierce County this month. Housing prices continue to rise along with inventory levels. There are 31% more homes on the market now than there were this time last year, but home owners in Puyallup saw on avererage a $10,000 appreciation from last year (About 3.5%). … (0 comments)

An interesting shift this past month. For the first time that I can remember, the average sales price in King county was lower this year than it was last year. However, the average sales price in Pierce, Thurston and Snohomish counties continued to rise despite increased inventory. Total closed transactions are still off from last year, but this is still shaping up to be the 3rd or 4th BEST year in Real Estate in HISTORY! … (0 comments)
