Our sweetheart foster puppy Rochelle has been adopted!  She was only with us for about a week, but we fell for her hard and fast.  Rochelle, who came to us through the rescue group FOCHP, and our dog Otis got along well and had fun playing in the yard.  It was fun to watch, especially because Otis is about 15 times the size of Rochelle.  
Anyone in the SoCal area who is interested in adopting a pet should certainly consider checking with FOCHP or any other rescue group or shelter.

Seriously.  
I headed to the parking lot after my office meeting yesterday when I saw a happy looking dog walking in my direction.  The dog was off leash, so I glanced around to see if the owner was nearby.  
The dog belonged to a delightful lady who I learned has an office in the same building as my office.  She brings her dog to work with her.  She's clearly a dog person as am I, so I hand her this year's calendar, which features my spokesdog Otis.

Very few of us are perfect writers.  I know I'm not one.  Everyone makes the occasional typo every now and again.  
How much impact do you think those typos, poor grammar, missing punctuation and more have on how the reader perceives you?
Do you think it's a good idea to ask someone to proofread your copy  before it goes public or do you think it's fine to post or print just about anything as long as the reader knows what you mean?

I'm getting plenty of attitude; not so friendly and no accountability.
 
I contacted a company earlier this month, giving them the opportunity to earn my business.  
Once my huband and I reviewed the contract, we saw that there were differences between what I was told on the phone, what was in the contract and what was on the company website.

This made me smile.
How cool is this?  I'm sure they got an unbelievable amount of showings!  The point is to get enough eyes on the property to find a buyer, so even if the people went only to ride the coaster, the increased activity may have helped find a buyer or even get multiple offers and drive the price up.  Who knows?
Good for the agent for doing something waaaay outside the box and getting an amazing amount of exposure.

If you're a homeowner in Orange County, CA, you've either already received or are about to receive your property tax bill.  HOORAY!!  Not really.  
 
The payment is due November 1, but you have until December 10 to make the payment.  If you're not going to make the payment right away, make sure you put it on your calendar so you don't forget.  You don't want to pay that hefty late fee!
 
If you have an impound account and the payment comes through your servicer, check the county website to confirm the payment has been made.  You can look … (3 comments)
