recalls: IKEA recalls about 1,900 Sultan Heidel spring mattresses - 06/03/10 06:13 PM
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and IKEA Home Furnishings announced today that IKEA is recalling about 1,900 Sultan Heidel spring mattresses due to violation of federal mattress flammability standards.
The mattresses come in twin, full, queen, and king sizes; were manufactured in Mexico (there's a shocker); and were sold at IKEA stores nationwide from June 2007 to April 2010. Depending on size, price was between $500 and $1,000.
The date stamp and the Sultan Heidel name are on the label attached to the mattress. Hopefully you didn't cut your label off like I do.

Many Realtors out here, as well as the general public, drive various models of Lexus and Toyota, so the following is relevant to our safety and that of those around us on the streets and highways.

recalls: General Electric recalls ranges due to fire and burn hazards - 04/08/09 03:54 PM
Our home almost burned down from a defective electric panel back in 2002. Since then I subscribe to the CPSC recall notices and inform my Clients -- and anyone else I know -- about these recalls.
Remember that not all of these recalls make the nightly news or the morning newspaper. They have to be significant and extensive to make the mainstream media. That's why it's important for all real estate professionals to subscribe to these recalls and let everyone know when one occurs. You just might save a home, a hospital bill, or a funeral procession.
