There is a lot of misconception as to how much business a typical Realtor does in a given year. The consumer assumes Realtors sell lots of homes each year since many brag about being a million dollar producer. Keep in mind that if the average home is $250,000, it only takes four to be a million dollar producer! According to the Intermountain MLS, there are 3,773 Realtors (including assciate brokers and brokers) whom are members of the Boise Regional Realtors effective February 17, 2017. Did you know that in Ada County (Boise Idaho) in March, we closed 108 more single family residential homes in 2015 than we did in March of 2014? In Ada County, for March of 2014, 580 single family homes closed according to statistics obtained via the Intermountain MLS. In March of 2015, that number jumped to 688 homes closed in Ada County. That is an 18.6% increase in real estate sales over 2014. I am a Boise Idaho Realtor and I just read a blog about buyer representation and was surprised to see that the vast majority of comments were from Realtors saying they wouldn't waste their time on a buyer that didn't first have a pre-approval letter from a lender and then signed a buyer representation agreement. If you are a Realtor that is losing business because you can't keep up with the leads, only going after this low hanging fruit would make sense as a business strategy, but for 90% of the Realtors out there, it is career suicide!
