There have been lots of changes lately at the National Association of Realtors (NAR).  The only thing constant in this world today is in fact change itself.
They thought about changing the LOGO but after spending countless hours and money, they appear to have tabled or abandoned that change.
They announced an increase in dues which always will cause people to complain.  They slowed down, heard but not sure if they listened, and appear to be going forward with the dues increase from $120 a year to $150

nar: Idaho received lots of PR from the National Association of Realtor’s today - 06/13/12 11:58 PM
I read today’s “My Realtor Party News” email and was happy to see that Idaho had two of the eight “Success Stories”.
The first article was about my friend Jim Johnston who was re-elected to the Pocatello City Council.  Jim Johnston’s name is synonymous with the Realtor Political Action Committee in Idaho so this is great recognition for him on a national level.
The second honorable mention was about the Ada County Association of Realtor’s (ACAR) success Bringing Housing Opportunities to Idaho.  NAR recognized our efforts in putting together a workforce housing program, down payment assistance programs where we helped monetize … (0 comments)

nar: NAR launches it's national property database! - 11/09/09 04:10 AM
I just learned that NAR has just acquired some of the pieces of the puzzle to finally produce the national database they have been talking about for quite some time.  It should have parcel information on nearly 150 million properties!
This project has been referred to in the past as:
Gateway Real Estate Channel Library/Archive Currently, it being referred to as the Realtor Property Resource (RPR) and is a wholly owned subsidiary of NAR. It will be interesting to see what NAR discloses in San Diego later this week!   I love this time of year since all the major vendors … (5 comments)

nar: Employer Assisted Housing Programs - 09/06/09 06:33 AM
I just got certified to teach the "Home From Work" (TM) program for the National Association of Realtors.
This program consists of three major components:
Home Buying Workshops; One on One Counselling; Financial Incentives. The Benefits to the employer are referred to as the "8 R's":
Recruitment Retention Revitalization Return Relationships Reduced commuting Recognition Right thing to do Some of the benefits offered to the employee can consist of:
Education of where to go for down payment/closing cost programs Grants Matched savings plans Forgiveable loans Deferred or repayable loans NAR is adjusting this program and will probably be changing the name … (1 comments)
