Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville Illinois One of my favorite places to go bike riding with family and friends or to roller blade is at Independence Grove in Libertyville. Located in Libertyville on Peterson Road/Route 137, this forest preserve is part of the Lake County Forest Preserve system. Independence Grove offers an array of outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, hiking and biking trails, picnicking and a swimming beach on a 115 acre lake.
