Swimming pools and spas on short sale properties are starting to give me grief. Just when I thought nothing else could slow down the short sale process for me, WHAM!, here comes County Code Enforcement slapping fines on bug infested swimming pools and spas. It doesn't take long for a pool or spa to turn green and ugly when the power has been turned off. Sellers don't want to deal with maintaining pools or spas after they vacate their homes. I recently received my TRIM notice and was pleased to see that I am going to pay less in property taxes this year. Obviously Amendment 1 that was approved by voters on Jan 29, 2008 on property taxes is working. Owning a home is becoming affordable again in Hillsborough County Florida. Home prices are pretty close to bottoming out, mortgage rates are at an all time low, and now property taxes are affordable. WOW! What a great time to buy a home. … (0 comments)

This being my first BLOG on Active Rain. I would like to dedicate it to all the hard working real estate agents that are helping people buy and sell properties all over the world. I am a real estate brat. My parents have been Realtors for over 23 years. My grandfather was a real estate agent for over 40 years. So needless to say I was pretty much born into real estate.
