While everyone else is looking doom and gloom. I am running around like a cheerleader, go team go. Sales in my market are off the chart. Contract pendings have doubled over this time last year. Granted quite a few are short sales, but eventually they do get to closing. The media is even jumping on board. I read an article today that the housing market had a "Surprise jump in Home Sales". Swimming pools and spas on short sale properties are starting to give me grief. Just when I thought nothing else could slow down the short sale process for me, WHAM!, here comes County Code Enforcement slapping fines on bug infested swimming pools and spas. It doesn't take long for a pool or spa to turn green and ugly when the power has been turned off. Sellers don't want to deal with maintaining pools or spas after they vacate their homes. I have had great success lately with getting short sales approved by mortgage companies in record time. Recently, I had one approved in 10 days. I think that mortgage companies are finally getting their act together and getting short sales approved in less than 3 to 4 months.
