At least twice a week, our local newspaper, the Fort Myers News-Press, prints a negative article about the real estate market in Lee County. This week has been no exception. This morning there was yet another front page article complaining about inflated real estate values. Of course, the articles always conveniently forget to mention that the vast majority of overpriced properties are in Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres. Properties in gated, golf course communities are fairly priced, yet are always lumped together with the admittedly overpriced houses in Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres.
