In any business transaction, whether it be a real estate transaction, a contractor you're dealing with or even an automobile purchase, whatever you agree to, get it in writing. Even if you're dealing with a person as sweet and trusting as a Mother Theresa, just remember even they can forget what they promised you if they forgot to take their Selenium supplement. I know first hand from real estate - How can you close a deal today and expect to remember every little detail 2 months from now at Settlement? No way. Can't happen. Nada. Add to the list of people who bought at the high end of the Real Estate Market, one Timothy Geithner, United States Treasury Secretary. Mr. Geithner and his wife bought in trendy WestChester County, New York in the village of Mammaroneck. My cousin retired as the Police Chief of said Village so I can attest to its Trendiness. (Yeah right, John. Go John). Mr. Geithner purchased the home for $1.602 Million Dollars and listed it in May for $1.635 Million Dollars. Didn't anyone tell him about the "Bubble" and the Slump in the Economy? I guess he was expecting a Bailout or (0 comments)

Awhile back , we were dealing with an Agent who must have been a recent Lobotomy recipient. She forgot everything we told her and everything she told us. We were in the middle of negotiations and she was in "The Twilight Zone" mode. I remained Professional, (Lord have Mercy!), and told her from that point everything we agreed to would be in writing. We would talk, then I would follow with an e-mail for her confirmation. It has since become part of our business practice. In negotiations, we talk to the other Agent, then whoever is making the Counter puts it in an (0 comments)
