The Pearland Christmas Parade is a local Christmas season favorite! It will be held this Satuday (December 5th). The parade will start at 6pm and travels a route along FM 518 from Pearland Parkway to Old Alvin Road. Every year the parade brings out tons of area families to watch local businesses and groups compete for prizes. This year's theme is "Candy-Coated Christmas." Floats are entered by individuals and businesses and they will be judged on their creativity in representing the theme. The theme changes each year. The Houston Holiday Parade is presented by H-E-B. Every year this parade gets bigger and better and I'm sure that this year will not be an exception! 66 years of holiday tradition are wrapped up into this exciting event in Downtown Houston. It is being held November 26, 2015 (Thanksgiving Day) at 9:00am. The streets close early for this one so head down early and look for the perfect spot. Admission is free! One of my favorite things about living in Pearland is the diversity of our community and the numerous community events organized to bring all of us Pearland residents together! The 3rd Annual Pearland International Festival promises to be a fantastic event to do just that! I realized that some of you may be new to Texas and may not be familiar with a fantastic back-to-school event in our state. Each year the state of Texas offers a tax free weekend during the month of August. During this three day period, there is no sales tax (state or local) charged on a number of items including clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks for adults and children! Shadow Creek Ranch is a develpoment that many people in the Houston area, particularly the south Houston area, are familiar with. It is a fantastic master-planned community.
