The other day, my 10 year old son got in trouble - so I told him "no friends today."
Two hours later, he runs upstairs (while I'm in the middle of something) and tells me that the neighbor kid came inside.
He's waiting for my "no, we already talked about this. You're in trouble."
Except it doesn't come.
He stands there for forever. Instead, I look at him and say "why are you telling me this? He comes in all the time. It's fine. And I'm trying to finish this."
So, my son shrugs his shoulders and speed walks away.

Recently, I saw an article confirming what I already know. The trials of the pandemic have brought most mothers to the brink of exhaustion.
I hear this often from my own mom readers. It's overwhelming.
The truth is, in normal times, moms have too much to do. While a lot of moms work outside of the home, many of them are also responsible for cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the kids. So, the average mom is always working.
