I'm a HUGE fan of challenges, and I entered one on a whim back in January. Like many, I wanted to read more in 2021. So, thanks to New Year motivation, I signed up to read 1 book a week for 3 months. With the help of group accountability and a $20 miss penalty (ouch), I followed through. And then signed up again. And again. But why keep doing it? You might be thinking, "that's a lot of reading!" personal growth: Do You Have to Work Long Hours?

I recently read a book on self-development from a popular author. While I enjoyed parts of the book overall, I was discouraged by the tone and message. This "success" book turned out to largely be about making more money, and doing it by working 60 hours a week. But, if you spend all of your life working, are you actually living it? Sure, I'd love to make more money as much as the next person, but I also think a balance must be struck. I'm not sure working myself to burnout is the answer I'm searching for.
