home prices: Marry that Home But Date the Rate (Mortgage) - 01/05/24 06:34 PM
It may be wise to Buy (Marry) the HOME and (Date) the RATE (Mortgage Rate). Then you will OWN your HOME when you RETIRE. You may have heard this term before, but it is valid. Are you waiting to "time the market" until mortgage rates drop significantly before buying a home?  (Photo: Erika Wittlieb, Pixabay)

However, 2024 finished with 9 consecutive weeks of declining mortgage rates to a national average of 6.61% average … (8 comments)

Mortgage Rates and Home Prices are rising. WHAT TO DO? Think about it. Are you waiting until mortgage rates drop significantly before buying a home? It may be a long wait similar to a RIP VAN WINKLE snooze/nap. SNOOZE YOU LOSE! Rip was the man author Washington Irving wrote about that had napped for 20 years in the Catskill Mountains and the world had changed so much after his long snooze. Additionally the Fed indicated last week that another Fed rate increase is expected in September. This in turn may continue to push up mortgage rates this Fall towards 8%. The lowering of prices and mortgage rate increases expected may mean this is a good time for home buyers to buy now before mortgage rates increase any … (2 comments)

home prices: Slowing in Phoenix Metro Home Price Increases? - 06/02/22 03:57 PM
Is a slowing in the string of all time record Phoenix metro median high SOLD prices ready to start slowing with rising mortgage rates? Well, maybe not quite yet as May 2022 is expected to be another all time high with sold prices of $475,000. Don't expect a reduction from the median of $475K soon and in fact it may increase further in June for homes that went under contract in May. However there are signs that a slowing (not a downturn) of home prices may be approaching. … (0 comments)
