Have you noticed home prices are rising throughout the Phoenix metro area? The median price has just reached $404,000. Maybe you should think about moving to Mesa Arizona which is the third largest city in Arizona with 500,000+ residents behind Phoenix and Tucson, yet is just Southeast of Phoenix and certainly in the metro area.
