A six-week program, sponsored by Arizona Hills Community Church, Dave Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze, teach parents how to raise money-smart kids in a debt-filled world. With six entertaining video lessons and activities, the Smart Money, Smart Kids class will equip parents to teach kids how to avoid making money mistakes, while learning key principles of money management such as working, spending, saving, giving, avoiding debt and practicing contentment. The Anthem real estate market continued it's retraction in August 2015. The number of homes sold decreased dramatically from July was even less than a year ago. The 12 month moving average sale price flattened, remaining at the $300k mark, only up 1% from the previous year. The number of homes on the market decreased slightly to 179, about 25% less than where we were at the same time last year. Days on market increased to 77 days in August, 11% less than last year. The Anthem real estate market pulled back ever so slightly in July 2015. The number of homes sold decreased from June but are up signifcantly year over year. The 12 month moving average sale price is still continuing on upward trend, cracking the $300k mark for the fist time in years, up 2% from the previous year. The number of homes on the market decreased as well to 181, 25% less than where we were at the same time last year. Days on market decreased to 75 days in July, 20% less than last year. The second quarter of 2015 was pretty flat for the Serenity Villas at Anthem real estate market. Home sales were up just slightly from the first quarter of the year but double the same time last year. The average sale price was flat as well as the average price per square foot. The average days on market has decreased, less than 3 months now, however it is taking far longer to sell homes in the Villas than it did at this time last year. More than 400 participating VerizonTCC stores across the U.S. are inviting local families to bring their children to the store to pick up a backpack filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, glue and other school supplies. The Anthem Youth Advisory Council (AYAC) will host a free movie night August 14 at the Anthem Community Center. The event will feature the film “Dodgeball” on the big screen. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for a teens-only dodgeball tournament in the gym, and the movie will begin at 8 p.m.
AYAC will have snacks/soda for purchase. Attendees may bring bottles of water and are encouraged to bring blankets and pillows to sit on (no chairs are permitted on the gym floor).
Because the movie is PG-13, attendees must be 13 to attend without a parent or guardian.

The second quarter of 2015 was robust for the Anthem Parkside real estate market. Home sales were up dramatically from the first quarter of the year as well as compared to the same time last year. And the average sale price continued to edge up year over year (+3%). The average price per square foot increased (+5%) as well telling us that home prices of all sizes are increasing in the Parkside. The second quarter of 2015 showed mixed signals for the Anthem Country Club real estate market. Home sales were up dramatically from the first quarter of the year as well as the same time last year. The drop in the average sale price year over year (-2%) is still a bit of a concern, but much like last quarter, the smaller, less expensive homes are selling which is still holding the average sale price down a bit. The first quarter of 2015 finished with a bit of a whimper in the Anthem Country Club real estate market. Home sales are off slightly from the same time last year as we head into the prime “selling season”. The drop in the average sale price year over year (-6%) tells me that the smaller, less expensive homes are selling, dragging the average down. The Anthem real estate market picked up a bit in March. The number of homes sold increased dramatically from February and year over year, staying in line with national trends. The 12 month moving average sale price is still continuing on upward trend, but we are maintaining single digit gains, up 2% from the previous year.
