On the Cover of the latest "DS News 12.2014", we see in large yellow print,  "Industry Leaders Speak Out on Housing in 2015".  On page 15 of this magazine, we read, "REPORT: HOUSING MARKET NOT COMPLETELY BACK, BUT GETTING CLOSER".  To quote the first paragraph of this article, "The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) released its Q3 Leading Markets Index (LMI) report and the verdict is:  National housing recovery is getting there, slowly but surely." Good news for our real estate market in the Iron County Area is that it continues to improve!  Year to date (YTD) sales are up this year 6.5% as compared to 2013.  Median Sales Price is up to $138,000.   Local Market Updates By County are attached from the Utah Association of REALTORS (UAR) for June 2014.  This report is the latest available since it takes the UAR two to three months to compile the data for all of the counties.

According to first quarter graphs from the Iron County Board of REALTORS Multiple Listing Service (MLS),103 homes were sold in Iron County under $99,999; and 130 homes sold between $100,000 and $199,999.  Therefore, 233 homes sold under $200,000.  Only 45 homes sold above $200,000 including all the way up to the highest priced home that sold.  Lower priced homes seem to be attracting buyers & investors that could not qualify in years past.
