As we get right into the swing of things this summer, the San Antonio housing market continues to outpace last year. May showed an eight percent increase in home sales over last year for a total of 3,326 homes sold, according to the Multiple Listing Service Report from the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®(SABOR), which reports on all areas in and around San Antonio.

August home sales prices showed an increase of 13 percent in sales as compared to this same time last year, according to the latest statistics released by the MLS from the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®, which reports on all the areas included in the Multiple Listing Service. Inventory still remains below 4 months for the twelfth consecutive month which caused prices to continue to rise. The average price of a home in August rose four percent to $246,515, while the median price moved up to seven percent at $211.800. The median price has stayed over $200,000 since May 2016.

As we begin to see the temperatures drop, so has the housing inventory for the San Antonio area continued to plunge.  The San Antonio Market Report for October 2013 showed a stunning low of 4.4 months inventory. According to the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®(SABOR)’s MLS Report,  a total of 1,839 homes were sold during the month, which was an 11 percent increase when compared to October 2012.  Those homes spent an average of 69 days on the market.
