peak performance: Peak Performance and Relaxation! - 03/02/09 12:49 AM
PEAK PERFORMANCE:  The story of Lance Armstrong  has been an amazing one. How can you not be impressed with the challenges he's overcome? His mental attitude and innate competitiveness present an inspiring example.
There is documentation of how his body is somewhat of an anomaly: being able to efficiently process fuel, in the muscles, 3-5% more efficiently than the pro riding next to him and 8% better than the average fit man allows him to perform better on the same amount of carbs.  It makes me wonder about the chicken and the egg dilemma: which came first? Everything I have read … (15 comments)

peak performance: PEAK PERFORMANCE & RELAXATION - 10/28/07 07:11 AM
I was reading a story the other day about Lance Armstrong. Pretty amazing guy! How can you not be impressed with the challenges he's overcome? His mental attitude and innate competitiveness present an inspiring example. The story included the studies of how his body is somewhat of an anomaly: being able to efficiently process fuel, in the muscles, 3-5% more efficiently than the pro riding next to him and 8% better than the average fit man allows him to perform better on the same amount of carbs.  It makes me wonder about the chicken and the egg dilemma: which came first? peak performance: Multitasking: Smart or Dumb? - 07/17/07 10:04 AM
You know the feeling: you are a businessperson, a spouse, a parent, a caregiver to your parent and a volunteer on many community activities.....so the only way to be time-efficient is to do several things at once. Sort mail while talking on the phone, send e-mail on your PDA while sitting in a committee meeting, help with homework while designing your next marketing piece. Multitasking seems the only way to keep juggling and to get it all done. Sound familiar?
A growing body of scientific studies confirms what I have been telling my coaching clients: multitasking is actually inefficient and will, in … (4 comments)

peak performance: Six Tips to Higher Productivity - 07/14/07 05:55 AM
Do you work a lot, yet produce less than you think you should for all that hard work? In real estate, you only get paid for the results produced. You don't get paid for showing up or for getting ready. The difference between the very successful and the wannabees is the effective use of their time.
Their first year, new agents often spend lots of time on those activities that primarily give them experience. Sometimes, this teaches them what NOT to do. The habits and activities that are needed to learn the business are often different than those needed to be … (5 comments)

peak performance: Clutter Kills..... - 01/23/07 02:52 AM
Want to increase your effectiveness? Kill the energy vampires!
All of those things you are tolerating, including the clutter around you, drain your energy. They keep you from being able to effectively focus. If you think about each of those tolerations, those undone tasks, those ways you get distracted by something that doesn't work right and imagine each is sucking a little of your available energy, you can start to think of it as ENERGY VAMPIRES!
I offer my clients a great assessment from Coachu called the Clean Sweep. Take it and see how you are doing at having the essentials handled so your … (4 comments)

peak performance: Are You Getting Enough Oxygen?????? - 01/20/07 03:04 AM
You are probably familiar with the airplane announcement that instructs you, in case of loss of pressure, to put on your oxygen mask first before trying to help the sreaming, small child (or person acting like a small child ) next to you. It only makes sense that we can't help anyone else if we don't have oxygen going to our brains! Yet, there are real estate agents out there in your town (yes right there amongst you) THAT DO NOT HAVE OXYGEN GOING TO THEIR BRAINS!!!!!!!
"People who cannot find time for recreation are obliged sooner or later to find time … (4 comments)
