I was talking with an agent yesterday about a counter-offer he received, and he was scratching his head wondering what the home seller was thinking.
Now I've seen this sort of thing for more than 20 years in the Tallahassee real estate market, but I still lack the words to explain to an agent why somebody would make such a tactical blunder when selling a home.
If you are want to sell a home and get top dollar, you should really focus on the bottom line when you counter a real estate offer.

In what can only be described as gross negligence, Yahoo! published an article from US News and World Report on what it felt was the top 10 bargain retirement spots in the US.

One statistic that we have been maintaining at The Market Bulletin is a measurement that we refer to as the “Sales Success Rate.”  Recently, the one-year trend has dropped from a two-year high, after returning from a low of 30% reached in June of 2009.
By dividing the total number of closed sales by the total number of new listings, over a specific time period, we can show a trend that gives a hint at how many homes (as a percentage of the total) are actually selling.
