down payment assistance: Reasons why you can buy a home with a very small down payment
- 07/11/17 10:01 AM
Reasons why you can buy a home with a very small down payment The lack of down payment money is by far the biggest reason people do not believe they can buy a home. A recent survey even indicated a whopping 44% of non-homeowners thought you needed at least 20% down payment, and that simply isn't true for most home buyers. Clearly mortgage companies and real estate agents need to do a better job of educating non-home owners. The reality is very few people need anywhere close to 20% down payment, and most people can buy a home in the areas

down payment assistance: Millennials, YES YOU CAN buy a home!
- 08/21/15 03:31 AM
Millennials can, and still want to buy homes. While it is true the American dream of home ownership is harder to achieve than in the past, it isn't impossible. Young adults, more than ever in the past may be delaying home ownership because of student loan debt, and fear of the stability of their young careers. But they are still buying homes, just a few years later in life than in the past. According to data from Zillow, in the 1970's, first time home buyers on average had rented for just 2.6 years prior to buying a home, and was about 30-years

down payment assistance: Low down payment loans other than FHA Loans to consider
- 10/22/13 06:06 AM
Now that Fannie Mae is ending 3% down program. Are there other low down payment options besides FHA? The good news is YES! Once Fannie closes their 97% LTV door many state Housing Finance Agencies will still continue to offer 97% programs, and it’s still a much better option for many buyers than the now grossly overpriced FHA loan. Check with a good loan officer in your state for what is available in your area, but here in Minnesota, we have a great program available through the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. Similar guidelines should be available in most states. 3%
