foreclosures: Should the Home Builders be Getting a Break From Congress? - 04/03/08 04:17 PM
Over the last year home builders have taken huge losses. Now Congress announces a bill that will help home builders by providing them "tax credits" & "rebates" to basically bail them out and help some of them from going bankrupt. Interesting enough, earlier this year when this bill was not included in the Economic Stimulus package, the National Association of Home Builders were not very happy, and said it would stop making contributions to congressional candidates "until further notice".

foreclosures: Project Lifeline: Fed's plan to delay foreclosures - 02/12/08 04:07 AM
This morning, the Fed announced a plan to help homeowners delay foreclosure. For qualified homeowners, Project Lifeline will put the foreclosure process on hold for 30 days while their lender will try to work out a way to make mortgage payments more affordable. Mortgages that were taken out for an investment property or a vacation home will not be covered by the plan, and homeowners will not be covered if they have already entered bancruptcy or if their home is on track for foreclosure within 30 days.

foreclosures: Housing Prices to Free Fall in 2008 - 01/23/08 10:02 AM
Merril Lynch announces today, that they predict a steep decline in housing prices all the way through 2009, while the National Association of REALTORS says Merrill is "too pessimistic".

I agree with Merrill, and I have been saying this all along, while other agents have said my outlook was too negative.
NAR also didn't believe the "credit crunch" and the sub-prime crisis would take a toll like it has.
Countrywide Home Loans, the nation's largest mortgage lender, risks bankruptcy, but is bought out by Bank of America at a "fire sale" price.
