Be Careful How You Represent Yourself….It May Come Back To Haunt You
I was showered, dressed, had a hot mug of Joe in hand and ready to pack up my computer and head out the door when I noticed Paula Hamilton's post in my inbox and curiosity got the best of me. What she had to say really inspired fodder for this post.

"PRACTICAL HOUSING" FOR THE FUTURE? The next residential housing boom just may surprise us….
With an excess of 77 million “Baby Boomers” (1946 – 1965) in the final stretch, over 100 million X’rs (1966 – 1982) and Y’rs (1983 – date) in the field of play “PRACTICAL HOUSING” just may be the Buzz Word for the foreseeable future.
Boomers are down-sizing for more practical and accesable single story homes that they can comfortably and safely navigate or vying for more modest multiple “seasonal options” if they can afford them.

Xr’s are trying to figure out how to … (3 comments)

Former Home Owners Reclaim Foreclosed Property
I picked this up on another RE blog and wanted to re-post it. Very interesting. Could this be the tip of the iceberg?

One possible outcome of the foreclosure crisis could be a fight between former owners of foreclosed homes and lenders. An example of what might become a larger trend happened in California, where a couple and their nine children used a crowbar to break into their former home. Their lawyer recommended that they take this step, according to AOL’s HousingWatch.comThe former owners, Jim and Danielle Earl, say they were trying to catch … (4 comments)

"Earthquake experts see the 'Big One' getting bigger" Californians....Don't Take This One Lightly.
The following link is from a FOX NEWS piece that broke this morning:

Californians need to take this link very seriously. Having been a "DISASTER RESPONSE SPECIALIST" for the past 20+ years and having direct hands-on experience in California Earthquakes since 1986 I can assure you that you can never be too prepared.
Hardest hit are MOBILE & MANUFACTURED HOMES. Like Tornado's, floods and Hurricanes Earthquakes seem to a find thousands of Mobile and Manufactured Home Communities to destroy.  The biggest tragedy, however, are the thousands of residents in these … (6 comments)

mobile home: 2ND POST IN A SERIES ABOUT EARTHQUAKE PREPARDNESS "DISPLACEMENT" ARE YOU AT RISK OF BEING FORECED OUT OF YOUR HOME AFTER A DISASTER? - 08/07/09 06:27 AM
DISPLACEMENT
So now that the stage is set I’ll get to the point. Unlike wind, fire and flooding events that can and have wiped out entire communities earthquakes can and usually do give you a second chance if proper proactive and preventative measures are implemented. The biggest tragedy and challenge in the aftermath of any disaster is total loss of the use of your home also known as DISPLACEMENT.  There are three classifications your home may be subjected to if it is damaged in an earthquake as well as many other types of disasters but let’s focus on earthquakes for now. … (0 comments)

mobile home: A MOST UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE - 07/27/09 12:34 PM
We are living in a world where many of us are faced or will soon be faced with the reality of health care issues. Add to that the anxiety most folks are feeling about who, how and where they will be getting quality health care coverage let alone quality services, given our current political climate, and it adds significantly to an extremely over-burdened shortfall that will soon impact us all.In fact health care today like air travel is the antithesis of what it was when most baby-boomers were booming in their hay day. The quality of health care today to a … (0 comments)

It is very prevelant all throughout Riverside and San Bernardino and even outliying rural San Diego areas i.e. Anza, Borrego Alpine, Cedar. etc. You can also add remote places like Victorville, Apple Valley, … (2 comments)

mobile home: MANUFACTURED HOME LOANS IN CONDO PARK COMMUNITIES FINALLY ON THE HORIZON. GET YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW BUT DON'T ALARM YOUR CLIENTS YET. - 06/02/09 02:44 AM
Park communities represent the most popular setting for manufactured homes.  For loan purposes, lenders generally require that the owner of the home also own the land upon which the home sits.   Until recently the park also had to be classified as a owner-owned Subdivision or a Planned Unit Development in order for manufactured homes to qualify for FHA-insured loans.
Many mobilehome parks and manufactured home communities began as land lease developments but as residents desired a greater control over their living situation and costs associated with their residences, many parks converted to resident ownership.   Most of these used the process of … (0 comments)
