mobile homes: What Does California Consider A Permanent Foundation On A Mfg. Home?
- 07/16/15 02:59 AM
What Does California Consider A Permanent Foundation On A Mfg. Home? The California Puzzle What does California consider a permanent foundation? In California an engineer's opinion alone is not enough to verify a foundation. A recorded "Notice of Installation" aka 433A is the recognized California stamp of approval for a permanent foundation. Beyond proof of a permanent foundation, the 433A is also a title conversion document, verifying that the home and land are conjoined as real property. So how does one acquire a 433? California has a number of stamped and approved engineered plans that carry the designation

mobile homes: A Sign of the Times
- 08/15/14 11:49 AM
This is happening all over America in a very STEALTH sorta way. We're seeing prices tick up whence inventory is sorta building. Not sure exactly what to make of it. But it's certainly been a boon to the Manufactured Housing Industry. This morning, I posted my quarterly affordable home market report for one of the northern Colorado communities that we cover. And I did something that has left me deeply unsettled - I changed our working definition of "affordable". In the past, we considered homes priced $200K and under to be affordable. Admittedly, that was always an approximation, an informal

mobile homes: Today's "FACTORY BUILT HOUSING TECHNOLOGY"
- 05/23/14 08:45 AM
Today's "FACTORY BUILT HOUSING TECHNOLOGY" For Tomorrow Blu Homes was founded with the goal of making better homes for American families—better built, better to live in and better to maintain. We began after funding a two-year graduate study on the future of housing with the Rhode Island School of Design that found prefabricated homes to be the best way to consistently build quality homes, with little impact on the environment. But our founders wanted to look beyond the traditional prefabricated home and applied aerospace technology from MIT to craft our homes in an entirely new way. Precision-built
