Is there anything better than a Maine summer? How about spending your summer in Southern Maine? It's a hard call which one is better, but there's a lot to love! And that's the case for how the second quarter treated Southern Maine as well. Real estate transaction volume was up by 17%, with 539 properties sold this quarter compared to 459 this time last year. Median sale prices were down by just 7%, so it's safe to say this was a fairly successful quarter for Southern Maine all around!

As we get further and further into summer, it's becoming quite clear that Maine is in for a beautiful one! Not just weather wise, but also in the real estate market. Our April showers brought May flowers, and spring finally! You wouldn't believe how beautiful Brunswick is in the spring, or how well it's doing in the Southern Maine real estate market! In the first quarter of 2014, transaction volume was up 22%, with 45 homes sold compared to 37, and median prices were down by 8%. In a market this good, don't be surprised if the second quarter is just as good, if not better!
