real estate seo: How can we stay ahead of national sites like Realtor, Trulia and Zillow within organic search rankings? - 02/22/12 08:40 PM
So.. I think this is my first post in probably 5+ years of being a member of this great community that is solely intended to provide useful information/spark a conversation without any direct benefit to my network of real estate sites :) 
What I am hear to ask/discuss is how can an agent/agency website continue to stay above the likes of larger sites such Trulia, Zillow, Realtor, Yahoo Real Estate within an age when Google continues to place greater and greater emphasis on branded/high domain authority sites?

In am effort to continually climb the google charts I performed this experiment and had incredible results.Test: See if changing the name of a page from falmouth.php to falmouth-maine-real-estate.php will effect my placement.
Prior to changing the name I placed 81 for the google search "Falmouth Maine real estate"
Implementing the change in page name, deleting the old one on my site so as not to have duplicate content (plus checkibg the google webmasters tools to see if there were any incoming links to the old page that would be effected) and then simply adding two blog posts with links to … (5 comments)

What constitutes the best?  Best content, best ranking, most leads, most visited?  As I and many others continue to work towards building our real estate empires, I seem to have become a bit obsessed or perhaps the better word is focused :) on optimizing and creating a website that is desgined to become number one in google for select keywords, but at what cost to the rest of my business? Spending countless hours searching for the best directories, the highest page rank, strategically placing anchor text links, not over doing it for fear of being black listed?
